Overdraft Protection

Share

Mistakes happen, but they don’t have to cost you. Save yourself from expensive Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) charges by establishing an Overdraft Protection plan. Choose one or both of the following convenient options.

Saving Account

Designate a savings account as your overdraft account. If you withdraw more than is available in your checking account, we’ll automatically transfer the exact amount needed to cover the transaction up to your available funds ($1 transfer fee may apply). Transfer restrictions may apply.

On Tap® Credit Card*

Open an On Tap Credit Card and tie it to your checking account. If you don't use it, it costs nothing. If you have insufficient funds in your checking account to cover a purchase, it will be charged to your credit card.

Overdraft Protection Line of Credit*

It's a line of credit tied to your checking account; if you don't use it, it costs nothing. If it's activated because you have insufficient funds in your checking account to cover a charge, then you pay interest on the number of days you use the line of credit. Monthly payments (or a lump sum payoff) keep the line ready for you, whenever you need it.

*With approved credit.

Courtesy Pay

Courtesy Pay is another way we help members avoid insufficient fund hassles. In qualified instances, we’ll pay overdrafts up to an approved limit for one low fee per overdraft transaction.

Courtesy Pay is not a loan. Before using Courtesy Pay, we will first attempt to clear the item by using any other overdraft protection plan you may have in place.

You can set up alerts in On Tap online and mobile banking to notify you if Courtesy Pay is activated. Please note that we are not obligated to notify you before we pay or return an item or deny a transaction. The amount of any overdrafts, plus any applicable fees are due and payable upon demand. If we pay an overdraft with more than one (1) owner, each owner is jointly liable for such overdrafts and/or fees.

How does it work?

Every checking account is automatically included in the Courtesy Pay program after 6 months of a satisfactory history. No application or additional signature is required for checks and ACH/electronic payments. To sign up to have debit card transactions covered by Courtesy Pay, please contact us.

How do I opt-out of Courtesy Pay?

At your request, your account can be removed from coverage of any future Courtesy Pay overdrafts. Call us or visit a branch to opt-out.
